Destin Beach on 8-4 water looked great but still dense patches of june grass along the shore but once away from the june grass the water looks great and plenty of people were swimming and on the beach enjoying the sun.

My family is coming August 7th-14th, will the june grass get any better and clear out?

My family and I would like to say thanks for this great website. We have been checking it out since day one. We came down from St. Louis back in June for a week and we wouldn’t have vacationed in Destin if not for this site. Stayed at Edgewater and it was great. Third vacation in Destin. Had some tar wash up on 6/23 but they cleaned it up well and we were back in the water the next day. I am still concerned about the June grass. It was everywhere. Hope it’s not there next year. I don’t remember it being in the water the last two times we came to Destin. Can you comment on the June grass and why it has been in Destin all summer? Once again, thanks so much for the website!
thanks for the website i have been watching forever. we are coming down in 2 weeks.
We just got back from Destin on Saturday August 14th. We were there 1 week and never encountered any oil or tar. The June grass and seaweed was bad towards the end of the week but overall the beaches were beautiful. I am so glad we didn’t cancel and this website played a huge factor in that. Thank you so much. We had a WONDERFUL time and look forward to our next trip.

The june-grass can change alot day-to-day but compared to last few weeks the june-grass has gone down quite a bit with the waves from last few days it has also helped clear up more june-grass. It shouldn’t be a problem though there is no way to tell for sure.
